Java is a general-purpose, concurrent, class-based, object-oriented computer programming language that is specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. It is intended to let application developers “write once, run anywhere” (WORA).

Compiling and executing Java programs

Software: To compile and run Java programs, you must first download the JDK (Java Development Kit).

1. To compile, type javac file_name.java in command prompt, where file_name is name of the file containing java source code.
2. Next, to run the program, type java main_method_class where main_method_class is the name of class.
